Logo Design - That’s the Power of More: Flag
Brian Butkowski explored the idea of a graphic representation of the concepts of response, reopening, and recovery with the Power of MORE. Naturally, incorporating the American Flag brought things together.
When asked to write a short summary about the creative process or motivation for the new “That’s the Power of MORE” logo, this was Brian’s response:
“We’re all in this together…” got old quickly, didn’t it? While absolutely true, and a wonderful sentiment, since probably early April I was already in search of something more descriptive of the business climate I wanted to promote during and post COVID-19. My feeling was to continue doing “Business ALMOST as usual.” After a few deeper discussions, one in particular with Mark Boepple, I was enlightened by some of what he was working on with the Power of MORE, and how to inspire businesses driving forward as things reopened. We explored the idea of a graphic representation of the concepts, at hand. This got my creative juices flowing, and the idea of creating a symbol incorporating the response, reopening, and recovery with the Power of MORE sparked! Initially, it just seemed natural to include the American Flag as the reflection of the grit and ingenuity of the tremendous individuals and business owners picking themselves up from their bootstraps and forging ahead. Then, it simply came down to sketching and testing how to make the Stars and Stripes work with the Power of MORE logo, along with the copy that would define, surround, and encapsulate “That’s the Power of MORE.” It took more than a few attempts to eliminate odd tangent points and create enough contrast to define the type, but I am very satisfied with the logo that was developed. I hope others who see it feel the same way, and it can serve as inspiration, as well as, a symbol of our willingness to collaborate and create new and better business opportunities!
